Apple has confirmed that its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2025 will take place from June 9-13. This annual event is one of the most important events for the tech community and for developers working within the Apple ecosystem.

Over the course of five days, the Cupertino company will showcase its latest software innovations and provide developers with access to advanced tools that will define the future of their platforms.

Since its first edition in 1983, WWDC has been the stage where Apple has unveiled the most important updates to its operating systems and set the course for its products. The 2025 edition promises to be no exception, with expected announcements about iOS 19, macOS, watchOS, and new AI-powered features.

Hybrid event with exclusive activities

As in recent years, WWDC25 will be held primarily online and completely free for all developers. This model allows programmers from around the world to access keynotes and sessions without the capacity restrictions of an in-person event. Apple will offer technical sessions, tutorials, and meetings with company engineers to help developers improve their apps and gain in-depth insights into the new technologies being introduced.

Additionally, Apple has confirmed that an in-person experience will be held at Apple Park on June 9. This special event will allow a limited number of developers and students to attend the inaugural Keynote and Platforms State of the Union session live, detailing key changes to Apple’s operating systems. Attendees will also be able to interact with Apple experts and participate in activities designed to strengthen the development community within the company’s ecosystem.

Space for this in-person event will be limited, and those interested must apply through the official WWDC25 website. Apple has not confirmed how many developers will be selected, but in previous editions, attendance has been limited to a small group.

Expectations in software and Artificial Intelligence

The biggest draw of WWDC is undoubtedly the unveiling of new versions of Apple’s operating systems. The company is expected to announce iOS 19, iPadOS 19, macOS 15, watchOS 12, and tvOS 19, in addition to potential improvements to visionOS, the operating system for the Apple Vision Pro.

One of the most talked-about rumors is that iOS 19 could feature a significant redesign, inspired by the visionOS interface. Apple has begun to unify the aesthetics of its platforms, and WWDC25 could be the turning point for greater integration between iPhone, iPad, and the company’s mixed reality devices.

Another key aspect will be artificial intelligence. For the past few years, Apple has been working on improving its AI capabilities under its “Apple Intelligence” initiative. WWDC25 is expected to serve as the stage for unveiling new generative AI tools within its operating systems. This could include improvements to Siri, new automation features for iOS and macOS, and possible integration with advanced language models similar to those used by competitors like Google and Microsoft.

One of the most anticipated points is the evolution of Siri. Delays have been reported in the implementation of a more powerful version of Apple’s virtual assistant, but the company could take advantage of WWDC to showcase progress in this field. Users expect a smarter Siri, capable of holding contextual conversations and performing more complex tasks without relying so heavily on the cloud.

In addition to software, there’s also speculation about possible hardware announcements. While WWDC typically focuses on software, in previous years Apple has used the event to unveil products like the MacBooks with Apple Silicon chips. In 2025, we could see the arrival of a new Mac Pro with performance improvements for the M3 Ultra chips or even the first details on the next generation of M4 processors.
