Recent reports suggested that Elon Musk was preparing to launch a new mobile phone, reportedly intended to compete with Apple’s iPhone. The device has been referred to as the Tesla Pi Phone.
The phone was said to feature new technologies, including free Starlink internet, built-in charging, and an advanced security system. Reports also suggested a price of around US$789.
How the Tesla Pi Phone rumours began
The rumours began when Trend Fuel posted a photo on Facebook showing Elon Musk holding a device with the Tesla logo. The image quickly spread online, leading many to believe that Tesla was entering the smartphone market.
However, there has been no official announcement from Tesla about a phone. When asked about the rumours, xAI’s AI, Grok, said: “The Tesla Pi Phone is a persistent rumor, but it’s not an official Tesla product.”
Moreover, Elon Musk himself confirmed on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast: “No, we’re not making a phone.” He added that Tesla would only consider making a device if companies like Google or Apple blocked Starlink or Tesla services.
Therefore, at least for now, Tesla has no plans to launch a mobile phone. The Tesla Pi Phone remains a rumour rather than any actual upcoming product.
